<Foshan, 20 January 2021> Today marked an important milestone in Foshan’s position as a centre for student academic achievement and choice in the Greater Bay Area, with Mr Shang Xuebing, Foshan Education Bureau Party Secretary & Director, Mr Yin Hui, Chancheng Political Consultative Conference Member, Mr Liu Feihu, Member of the Chancheng Standing Committee, Mrs Lin Xiujuan, Chancheng People's Committee Member, Mr Ou Zhuming, Chancheng District Director, Mr Zeng Xiongfeng, Chancheng Education Bureau Party Secretary & Director, Mrs Liang Yanjun, Representative of the School Board, and Mr Steve Allen, Founding Head Master of Lady Eleanor International School Foshan, holding the official Unveiling Ceremony for the newly-built international day and boarding School. 

1月20日，佛山霍利斯外籍人员子女学校（以下简称“佛山LEH”）正式揭牌，这将是在佛山创设卓越英式教育迈出的重要一步。佛山市教育局局长商学兵，禅城区政协主席殷辉，禅城区委常委刘飞虎，禅城区人大常委副主任林秀娟，禅城区代区长区柱明，禅城区教育局党组书记及局长曾雄锋等领导一行，及佛山霍利斯外籍人员子女学校创校校长Steve Allen（安弘博）等，共同出席了揭幕仪式。

The Unveiling Ceremony marks the next stage of an ambitious project that has brought together the academic experience and reputation of 800 the leading British independent school, Lady Eleanor Holles School, with the vision and support of the Foshan Government and TrumpTech Limited, a leading provider of education services in China. 

本次揭幕仪式标志着佛山霍利斯外籍人员子女学校的落成，学校正式开学后，可为10岁-18岁外籍和港澳台籍学生提供800个学位，旨在将高质量的纯正英式课堂及教学带到佛山及粤港澳大湾区。

Co-officiating, Mr Allen said: “I am delighted to be able to celebrate this important milestone and to introduce our impressive campus to families in the Greater Bay Area. Mr Allen added: “I am proud to have brought together a talented team of teachers to create a school dedicated to encouraging academic excellence, creativity, critical thinking, teamwork and leadership in our students.”

Mr Allen brings a wealth of experience in Asia-based British international schools, and has been living and working in Foshan for the two years. Mr Allen was previously the Head Master of an leading International School in Bangkok. Under his leadership, the School posted record academic exam results, and guided its students to leading universities around the world. Mr Allen has also held senior leadership roles in the UK and Hong Kong.

创校校长Steve Allen深耕亚洲英式国际学校，拥有丰富的教学及管理经验，自学校筹建以来，已在佛山居住2年多。他曾任曼谷顶尖的私立国际学校校长，在他的带领下，学校获得了具有里程碑意义的IGCSE和A-Level成绩，并带领学生进入世界顶尖大学。在此之前，他还曾在英国阿丁莱学院（Ardingly College）及香港的学校担任高级领导职务。

The Unveiling Ceremony took place within the newly-built campus of Lady Eleanor Holles International School (LEH Foshan), located in the Chancheng District of Foshan. Covering 58,000 sqm, the campus provides world-class academic, sporting and boarding facilities for up to 800 girls and boys, from age 10 to 18.

The multi-purpose grass-pitch sports ground, with 400m athletic track, is surrounded by the school’s specialist classrooms, science laboratories, swimming centre (25m, 6-lane pool), 800-seat theatre, 4-court sports hall, boarding houses and staff residences.

“Our campus has been designed with the needs of the students at its heart. It offers a dynamic and positive learning and living environment where students can feel safe and confident in developing new skills – academic, sporting and artistic,” said Mr Allen.

British Curriculum offers the Gold Standard in International Education  

英式国际课程——高水平国际教育

Building on the success of its founding school in the UK, LEH Foshan students follow an enhanced English Nation Curriculum from 10 years old, leading to the internationally respected IGCSE qualifications at age 16 and A Level qualifications at age 18. 

以英国LEH为蓝本，佛山LEH为10岁的学生提供强化的英式大纲课程，16岁的学生将会参加IGCSE考试，而18岁的学生将参加A-Level考试。

“The English National Curriculum is renowned, around the world, for its academic excellence and is the first choice for many internationally-minded families,” explains Founding Head Master, Steve Allen. “It is a popular and widely-recognised curriculum with a proven track record of preparing our students for the top universities around the world,” added Mr Allen.

The location of the school was chosen by the Foshan Government to ensure that it was convenient for boarding students travelling from Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, as well as day students from Foshan. LEH Foshan is 15 minutes to the closest metro station (Guicheng Station), 15 minutes from the Guangzhounan Station and 50 minutes from Guangzhou International Airport by car.
