Robert Reid-Kay

After growing up in Hong Kong, I attended Newcastle University. On graduation I moved to Beijing, China where I lived, studied and worked for 7 years. I worked in various capacities, including as an arts festival director, marketing and events manager for a restaurant chain and product localisation manager for a tech company. Intrigued by what the GBA had to offer (and in search of warmer climate!), I moved to Shenzhen. In 2023 I co-founded a product sourcing and development company that services companies looking to manufacture and manage their supply chain in China. As a start up founder, BritCham has been a great place to meet likeminded individuals running similar businesses. I am impressed by the array of events and visits BritCham hosts, exposing me to fascinating industries other than my own. I would like to join the Executive Committee to give back to the Chamber, working to grow the supply chain group, generating wider business community interest, and helping with existing and new event formats. Being on the ground in Guangdong enables me to understand what British businesses need and I intend to use this influence to better service British organisations in China.
