JEREMY SARGENT

I am a UK national and longstanding Chair of the Executive Committee. My involvement with China goes back to the early 1980s when I was fortunate to study in China as an exchange student. I have been working in Guangzhou for over 20 years both as a lawyer and, over the past decade, as founder and operator of The Happy Monk bar/restaurant concept. I have been professionally involved over the past two decades in assisting numerous British and other foreign companies with many aspects of establishing and operating a business here in Guangdong and understand the multitude of challenges this can entail. My hands-on role at The Happy Monk exposes me on a daily basis to the challenges and rewards of operating a growing business at the grassroots level.I am a Chinese speaker who has made Guangzhou my home. I am deeply committed to the continuing development of Sino-UK business relations and believe there are many opportunities to grow BritCham in 2020.

Ricky Wong Man Kai

I have served Britcham Guangdong as the Honorary Treasurer for more than 4 years and am familiar with the financial affairs of the Chamber. I was born in Hong Kong and have lived and worked in Guangzhou for 20+ years. In my day to day work I help UK and PRC companies in their business development activities. My educational qualifications (e.g. ICAEW, ACCA and MBA Warwick) are mostly from UK institutions. Therefore, from culture, education and business perspectives, I am very interested and keen to help UK businesses advancing in China and vice versa. I believe my background and experience would be able to contribute to the GD Chamber.

Ben Massen

I am a British consultant working for Sino Associates, a consulting firm which provides training, coaching and facilitation solutions. Our company has been a member of BritCham for nearly a decade and are currently one of the Chambers training partners. I have been actively involved in BritCham events for over 15 years and hope to see their continued success in 2020. My passion is helping people grow and get better results in their work and life. I work with leaders and their teams to accelerate their growth, expand their influence and increase their impact. I believe with my experience and passion I can help the Chamber grow by helping run meaningful events and creating more impact for its members.
