(Shenzhen, Oct 2020) Inheriting the luxury legacy of The Langham, London for over 155 years, The Langham, Shenzhen has been creating unforgettable culinary experiences for its guests. Recently, Silk, the all-day dining restaurant located on the second floor of the hotel, has fully upgraded its dinner buffet menu to give diners a taste of class and finesse. Inspired by the style of traditional European bistros, Silk comprises over ten specialty food stations that serve a deliciously rich blend of pan-Asian favourites, Western cuisine and Chinese specialities.


The Seafood Station offers a fresh selection of seafood, including New Zealand mussels, baby geoducks, conch, baby octopus and Australian lobster, with a complement of homemade sauces that enhance the natural flavours further.


In addition, Silk has also presented a special seafood tank where diners will find premium live seafood such as giant clams, Alaskan crabs, and New Zealand mussels. For food enthusiasts, this is as fresh as it can be. Don’t miss out on the sizzling seafood pots featuring a mount-watering sour soup base, which is cooked over a slow fire for two hours, and served together with the seafood in a pre-heated stone pot.


The original Hot Food Station has also been divided into Western and Chinese sections. Besides all-time favourites, such as grilled snapper fillet, grilled asparagus with Pecorino cheese, grilled flounder, roasted Mediterranean vegetables, stewed beef cheek with celery and tomatoes, New Zealand mussels in rich broth, the chefs will also be cooking pasta for diners on the spot using traditional Parmesan cheese. Dishes available at the Chinese Food Station includes specialties from the north and south of China, such as the irresistible fish head with chopped pepper, grilled lamb belly, Wanzhou grilled fish, braised meat platter, pork bone in north-eastern soy sauce and the classic “Buddha Jumps Over the Wall”, cooked with over 30 different ingredients.


In order to satisfy the taste buds of food enthusiasts from the Guangdong region, the culinary team opened a Cantonese Station that brings together signature dishes such as Jun’an pan-fried fish cake, Braised chicken and papaya in coconut soup, Braised goose feet in abalone sauce, defried pork ribs with garlic, Braised spare ribs in casseroles, and a variety of roast meats from the Chinese restaurant T’ang Court, including crispy barbecue pork, tender roast chicken and juicy roast duck.


At the Cold Cut Station, diners will find smoked salami, smoked duck breast, smoked salmon and special Parma ham imported directly from Italy. Preserved with pure sea salt in a strenuous process that includes many different steps and requires a strict control of humidity and temperature, the Parma ham is soft and full of meaty flavours.


Besides the 9 kinds of sashimi, including tuna and salmon, the Japanese Station also serves a wide selection of sushi. Near the Japanese Station, the fried foie gras is also available for guests to order.
