The British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong held a seminar titled “Update and Trend of Foreigners” on 25th May in Guangzhou at our member company, the Four Seasons Hotel.
We were honoured to have Becky Xia, Managing Partner at Fragomen, the global immigration experts, as our speaker for this seminar. More than 40 guests attended the session, including officials from the US, Australian and Philippine Consulates in Guangzhou, along with our members representing many sectors and industries.
Becky introduced 18 new policies announced by the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau that were implemented in the second half of 2017, which aim to support the development of The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Becky paid special attention to the 5 preferential visa policies for foreign workers, which will be of benefit to those involved in trading. Afterwards, Becky also answered questions from the audience regarding their own experience of the updated work permit procedures.
