The ‘Termination of Employees under PRC Law’ seminar was held at the British Centre in Guangzhou on Friday 23rd March. The British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong was delighted to invite Mr. Kehua Zhang and Ms. Zoe Zhou from our member-company Wei Tu Law Firm to share their knowledge about employee termination in the PRC, and we were joined by almost 30 company representatives for this learning session.
Mr. Kehua Zhang introduced the lawsuit procedure of terminating employees, and presented us with the statistics of labor disputes with real-life cases, which helped the audience to clearly understand about the current situation of employment legal disputes in recent years.
Ms. Zoe Zhou shared the arguable termination cases and elaborated on how to evaluate the risks of reinstatement (where an employee who has had their employment terminated, applies to be reinstated with the company) based on each specific case, so that the audience could understand the practical guidance in reinstatement.
The Q&A section created a great chance for our guests to provide some of their own experiences and ask questions of the speakers, who could provide further advice and guidance.
