2018 Outlook and Social in Shenzhen

BritCham Guangdong welcomed over 20 business representatives to join our Outlook 2018 and Social on 1st February at Residence G Shenzhen. It was a great honour to invite four experts in different fields to share their predictions and insights for the year ahead to our audience. 

To begin with, Mr. Barry Wilson, the BritCham Shenzhen Chairmen welcomed guests and set the scene on Shenzhen’s status as compared to the rest of Guangdong and China, including comments on Shenzhen having the 3rd highest GDP across cities in China last year, and it continues to show huge potential. 

Mr. Wilson then introduced the speakers, beginning with Jim Dai from Michael Page who shared the latest Recruitment Trends in Southern China; Dr. Li Kai from Invest Futian-Shenzhen Futian Financial Development Office then gave an insight into Financial Technology Innovation (Fintech) in Shenzhen along with relevant Practices and Regulations; Dr. Zhou Yuhua from UCLan Technology (Shenzhen) Ltd. gave the latest guidance on Local Government Policy and funding resources for Start-up companies and finally, the latest news in Communication Trends was delivered by SiuKwan Tsui from KAID PR. Throughout the talks, the audience showed great interest on the speakers’ sharing and exchanged opinions during the Q&A sessions.

In the social section, participants enjoyed a glass of wine and food, and continued to discuss the topics and issues raised by the speakers. We hope that all participants who attended this event learned something new and made some new connections that will help support your business in the year ahead. It was a great event full of knowledge, ideas sharing and experience exchange, and we would like to thank you for joining us.
