Position: Events Manager
Gross Salary Range: RMB 9,000-10,000/month (gross)
Annual Leave: 15 Days

Location: IFC, Zhujiang New Town, Guangzhou
Commencing Date: As soon as possible

Major Responsibilities
The Events Manager shall be mainly responsible for the planning and implementation of the Chamber’s annual events programme, reporting to the BCCSC Committee and the BCCSC's Executive Manager in Guangzhou. The Event Manager’s duties shall include the following:
Event Coordination and Team Management:
Lead and supervise the event coordination team, ensuring all members are aligned and prepared to execute event tasks effectively.
Event Program Oversight:
Manage and oversee the Chamber’s entire annual events calendar, ensuring all events are well-planned, executed on time, and align with the Chamber’s strategic goals.
Budget and Financial Management:
Develop and manage detailed event budgets, tracking expenses and making necessary adjustments to stay within financial constraints.
Venue and Logistics Management:
Secure event venues, negotiate terms, and confirm logistics to ensure that all aspects of event execution (location, equipment, and facilities) run smoothly.
Event Material Creation and Distribution:
Design, create, and distribute invitations, flyers, and other promotional materials to ensure timely outreach to attendees and maximize event visibility.
Speaker and Topic Research:
Research and identify trending event topics and potential speakers, selecting industry leaders who align with the Chamber's mission and objectives.
Speaker/VIP Liaison:
Maintain strong communication with event speakers, VIPs, and other key stakeholders to ensure all their requirements are met and expectations exceeded.
Sponsor Engagement and Relationship Building:
Identify potential sponsors, foster relationships, and ensure sponsor needs are met to enhance the overall success of the event.
Event Promotion and Outreach:
Develop and execute event marketing strategies using various channels (flyers, cold calling, social media, etc.) to generate interest and drive event attendance.
Post-Event Evaluation:
Collect and analyze event data, assessing performance through attendee feedback and other key metrics, and generate reports to guide future event improvements.
Brand Definition through Events:
Ensure that each event reinforces and showcases the Chamber’s brand identity, values, and mission.
Staff Preparation and Event-Day Coordination:
Ensure all event staff are adequately trained and prepared for the event, and oversee the seamless execution of events on the day, addressing any issues that may arise in real-time.
Vendor and Supplier Management:
Coordinate payments for vendors and suppliers involved in the event, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
The Successful Candidate
The successful candidate should possess excellent written and spoken English language skills and should ideally possess the following:
(a) Have at least 3 years working experience. Event management experience in preferred
(b) Have a good overall knowledge of business and industry in Southern China
(c) Be sales and entrepreneurially orientated, willing to implement own ideas and initiatives
(d) Maintain strong networks that can be leveraged to enhance chamber's services
(e) Be able to think creatively
(f) Proficiency in Excel, Word, Photoshop and website knowledge
(g) Be able to work independently
(h) Be self-motivated, sociable and possess the confidence to deal with business people
(i) Be enthusiastic and outgoing, with an excellent phone and face to face manner
(j) Be well organised and systematic, and be willing to share a workload that does not fall directly under their job description
