The British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong (BritCham Guangdong, www.britchamgd.com) is a membership based organisation in China, helping members with business development through events, networking, introductions and referrals. Established in 1996, BritCham is one of the most active and influential Chambers in the PRD (now the GBA) and has offices in both Guangzhou and Shenzhen, with the ability to serve our members across the PRD.

Position: Marketing and Communications Assistant / Marketing and Communications Manager

Salary Range: RMB 7,000-9,000/month (Assistant) / RMB 9,000-11,000/month (Manager) plus performance-related commission

Annual Leave: 15 Days

Type of Position: Full time

Location: IFC, Zhujiang New Town, Guangzhou

Job Description:

The British Chamber of Commerce-Guangdong ("BritCham GD") is seeking a Marketing and Communication Assistant/Manager to begin work in Guangzhou office as soon as possible.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The precise nature of your duties and responsibilities will vary depending upon the role applied for.  However, the roles, duties and requirements set out below will generally apply.


As a marketing and communication professional, you need to have strong communication skills and excellent marketing skills, establish great engagement for BritCham GD members with a focus on attention to detail.  Depending on the role, you will assist with or play a crucial role in branding BritCham GD and driving membership and event promotion. You shall also give full support with regard to membership and event planning engagement and enquiries.  As deemed necessary, you will be expected to support other BritCham staff on membership and event matters. 

 

You will need to understand BritCham GD's positioning and goals; you will also be required to visit appropriate potential and existing members in order to promote the full services that BritCham GD has to offer and seek appreciate channels and way to help brand BritCham GD. 

 

Your main responsibilities include the following and any other duties that may arise in the course of your work:


  • To identify various opportunities to promote BritCham GD, develop marketing content and increase brand awareness.

  • Strategies and initiatives that will positively influence members' engagement behavior and capture growth potential.

  • To manage all BritCham GD media and digital channels, including WeChat & Wechat Channels, LinkedIn, website, and newsletter, update the latest information from time-to-time.

  • To collate, draft and proofread marketing and communication materials for BritCham GD membership and events.

  • Look for the opportunities to on board advertisements and sponsorship on BritCham GD digital channels and events.

  • Contribute to the marketing strategy, development, and execution of related marketing initiatives for BritCham GD.

  • Media partner management and contract coordination in relation to market and communications work.

  • To research and develop more stakeholders for engagements, e.g. industry associations, related media.

  • Provide support for membership engagement initiatives and event promotion, partnerships, and any other initiatives that require.


Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be energetic, curious, highly motivated with a great personality, sociable and personable, IT literate, an excellent organiser and communicator, an active listener and a team player with a proven ability to work independently. Specific requirements for either roles are as follows:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or retailed field and/or equivalent work experience;

  • At least 2 years' working experience in an international environment.

  • Marketing experience is desirable;

  • Fluent written and spoken Chinese and English;

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive attitude towards problem-solving;

  • Willing to face clients and answer their inquiries with good negotiation skills;

  • Ability to work independently as part of a team;

  • Competent marketing tools skills, such as Xiumi, Canvas, Photoshop, Glueup etc;

  • Self-motivated and open-minded
