(Shenzhen) 22 April: BritCham Education Mixer (Guangzhou) 23 April: Seminar: Navigating the New Foreign Investment Regime (Guangzhou) 27 April: Executive Dinner (Guangzhou) Seminar: How does IP Protection Boost Your Success? (Shenzhen) British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong, in partnership with Baker McKenzie successfully organised the seminar How does IP Protection Boost Your Success? on 20th April at Wework (Shenzhen). Around 20 participants from various industries participated in the seminar. Ms. Shirley Zhao, Mr. Andrew Sim and Mr. Dominic Edmondson from Baker McKenzie explained the important role that IP protection plays in the success of innovation-driven companies, and shared tips on good IP protection measures and how to boost success by effective IP protection. BritCham Education Mixer (Guangzhou) British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong successfully held BritCham Education Mixer, the 1st offline gathering for our Education Working Group in 2021, on 22nd April in The Happy Monk. We are delighted to have members and friends from education sector join us. Participants were divided into 8 discussion groups: Bilingual vs predominantly English language education; Competition in the market; Government policies and licensing; Social media influences – facts, opinions and fake news; Mental health issues affecting the younger generation; International education in China – 3 biggest opportunities; International education in China – 3 biggest challenges; Balancing academic and non-academic learning. Participants were divided into 8 discussion groups: Bilingual vs predominantly English language education; Competition in the market; Government policies and licensing; Social media influences – facts, opinions and fake news; Mental health issues affecting the younger generation; International education in China – 3 biggest opportunities; International education in China – 3 biggest challenges; Balancing academic and non-academic learning. Participants had the opportunity to network and mingle with like-minded people to discuss the education environment and development in Greater Bay Area, explore current issues affecting the sector during the post covid-19 and seeking potential ways to combat such challenges over a casual social networking event. Seminar: Navigating the New Foreign Investment Regime (Guangzhou) British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong, in partnership with Wang Jing & GH Law Firm successfully organised the seminar Navigating the New Foreign Investment Regime on 23rd April at Wang Jing & GH Law Firm (Guangzhou). Around 20 participants from various industries participated in the seminar. Following the implementation of the Foreign Investment Law (FIL) and its regulations, the legal environment for Foreign Invested Enterprises in China changed radically. Ms. Liu Chunhua, Ms. Eloisa Hu and Mr. Valentino Lucini from Wang Jing & GH Law Firm delivered an interactive event to allow businesses to assess the impact of the new set of regulations and consider the measures they need to undertake to respond to challenges but also to grasp new opportunities. Executive Dinner (Guangzhou) We are delighted to report Executive Dinner (Guangzhou) was successfully hosted by The British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong on 27th April. We were delighted to welcome around 30 senior business leaders at The Happy Monk for this event. We wish to give our special thanks to our wonderful speakers and VIP guest, Mr. Jeremy Sargent OBE, Chairman of British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong. Training Review (Demo) Adapting Your Intercultural Style on Global Teams (Guangzhou) British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong successfully held the demo training Adapting Your Intercultural Style on Global Teams on 7th April in British Center. |
