Position: Admissions Manager

Responsibilities

  • You would be responsible for developing and executing student recruitment targets.

Position: Operations Manager

Line manager: Director of Administration

Salary Range: 15K-25K RMB/Month

Responsibilities

  • Providing effective and high-quality service and support on campus, ensuring the smooth operation of the campus on a daily basis (24 hours). General services including budget planning and execution, school bus operation, laundry, cleaning of boarding, security and landscape vendor management, logistic and campus event support.

  • Manage, cooperate and communicate with the Property Management company, making sure the teaching building is clean tidy and in order. Act as a bridge between teachers and suppliers to make sure the requests made are satisfactory and that teaching activities are well supported

  • Manage, cooperate and communicate with the school bus supplier, ensure the daily school buses run for students and make sure that the operation is carried out safely and in a timely manner. When required, communicate with parents to resolve concerns and ensure parent satisfaction. Responsible for the management of school contracted drivers, and staff shuttle buses.   • Responsible for the cleaning of the boarding houses and laundry management. Line manage the boarding cleaning and laundry team, ensuring boarding houses are cleaned on a daily basis. Communicate and work with the boarding staff, to ensure the students uniform and bedding is collected, washed and returned as required

  • Work together with the Facility Manager to ensure that the school and facilities meet the highest standards of hygiene, health and safety. Work together with the Food Safety manager to ensure the smooth operation of the Dining Hall

  • Develop and maintain good relations with local government and neighbouring businesses

Requirements

Position: Facility and Health & Safety Manager

Job Descriptions

The Manager of Facilities is responsible to the Director of Administration for the day-to-day operation of the Facilities and Campus functions of the School.  This is a pivotal senior role in the School.

 

Responsibilities

Facilities & Grounds

  • Work with the Director of Administration, contributing to the development of plans for the school campus, providing expert opinion regarding services and condition of the existing campus

  • Contribute ideas and advice regarding potential future planned maintenance and development, consistent with strategic plans

  • Develop and manage annual campus budgets, ensuring the campus function is financially compliant and delivers its services within agreed financial limits

  • Commission and utilise periodic surveys to prepare a forward-looking planned maintenance schedule for buildings, M&E services, plant and equipment

  • Regularly review all maintenance contracts

  • Agree an annual schedule of maintenance and capital projects with the Head of School

  • Ensure effective delivery of projects, including the tendering, appointment and management of external contractors to achieve completion on time, on specification and within budget

  • Ensure planned maintenance activities are completed on schedule and within budget, and that urgent repairs are completed within approved timescales, so that the school environment is safe, comfortable and fully functional

  • Direct the campus team (including external contractors) to ensure that resources are utilised effectively and efficiently, that all buildings and facilities have up to date log books, and that all facilities and equipment are appropriately maintained and fit for purpose

  • Undertake regular inspections of all the schools premises

  • Monitor the schools energy use, management and conservation, investigating and implementing means of improving energy efficiency

  • Manage procurement of furniture, fixtures, fittings and materials as required

  • Ensure the Grounds team work closely with the sport staff in order that appropriate and safe facilities are available when required

  • Compile and manage the campus Emergency Response Plan (ERP) in line with local legislation and school requirements

  • Manage the Health and Safety of the campus and ensure that all appropriate Health and Safety policies are in place and risk assessments carried out and collated

  • Implement systematic risk assessments and processes for all users, including external contractors working on site

  • Organise and attend termly Health & Safety meetings

  • Act as Secretary for the termly Health & Safety meetings

  • Ensure that fire risk assessments are in place and regularly reviewed and updated

  • Ensure that all fire alarm and fire detection equipment is maintained and appropriately located

  • Ensure that air quality systems are in place and regular monitoring is reported and documented

  • Ensure that operations within maintenance, grounds and housekeeping departments comply with Health and Safety regulations and comply with best practice

  • Maintain appropriate compliance records as required by legislation

  • Liaise with the security contractors and manage all security systems including the CCTV system and controlled access system.

Personnel

  • Lead, motivate and develop the Facilities and Grounds teams ensuring that staff have appropriate training

  • Liaise with the HR dept in respect of recruitment and employment of all new members of Facilities and Grounds staff

  • Monitor and approve overtime monthly timesheets

  • Requirements

  • Minimum bachelors  Degree in related major

  • Minimum 5 years proven Administration and Facility Management experience or equivalent, service in British international school is preferable

Job description

Assist the School Librarian, to manage, develop and promote the library within MIS In order to ensure that an effective resource and information service is provided to the MIS community. School library opens from 8:00-21:00 (shift work)

Job description

Science Technicians provide all the support needed to allow practical work and experiments to take place in science lessons.


Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the school is compliant with government chemical safety regulations.

  • Purchasing consumables, chemicals, and apparatus

  • Assembling new apparatus; maintaining and repairing apparatus and glassware, or organising external maintenance or repair

  • Accurately and safely preparing chemicals, solutions, etc

  • Delivering apparatus and chemicals to teaching labs on time for lessons and removing them promptly afterwards

  • Cleaning dirty glassware and other apparatus

  • Safely disposing of chemical and biological waste

  • Setting up demonstrations in teaching labs

  • Keeping all working areas, storage areas, and equipment clean, safe, and well organised

  • Keeping teaching labs clean, safe, and properly stocked with apparatus

  • Dealing with chemical spills

  • Maintaining accurate stocklists of chemicals and apparatus.

  • Risk assessing technician tasks

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or above in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or similar

  • Significant experience of working in a lab, including accurately preparing chemical solutions and dilutions, and safely handling and storing chemicals

  • Appropriate knowledge, experience, and intellectual capacity to lead our compliance with Chinese chemical safety regulations

  • Willingness to learn UK methods of working, safety guidelines etc where these are useful for the curriculum and do not conflict with Chinese regulations

  • High level of spoken and written English, to allow the communication of complicated instructions by teaching staff, and to allow the use of scientific resources and procedures written in English

  • Numerate, to be able to do the calculations involved in chemical preparation

  • Methodical, careful, and well organised, for example can manage inventories of scientific equipment and chemicals and be responsible for maintaining and replacing these stocks

  • Proactive, energetic, and conscientious, so that they can take the initiative in all their work without supervision from teachers

  • Reasonable level of physical fitness and mobility

  • Not scared of or squeamish about, insects, dissections etc
